Abstract
The fluorescence intensity of several P1,P3-dinucleoside triphosphates related to mRNA cap-structure has been measured as a function of pH and temperature. The extent of intramolecular stacking has been estimated by comparing the intensities obtained with dinucleoside triphosphates to those of the corresponding monomers. The pKa values of 7-alkylguanine moieties in both dimeric and monomeric compounds have been determined by fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy.
